Calamus Reservoir SRA is one of Nebraska's finest state parks.
Whether you like to fish, hunt, or camp, you can find it all here at
Calamus. The 5,124 acre lake is surrounded by almost 5,000 acres of
natural Nebraska Sandhills. Calamus Reservoir SRA is a wonderful place
to get away from it all, or make lasting memories with your friends and
family.
Calamus Reservoir is located seven miles northwest of Burwell, Nebraska on Highway 96.
The reservoir was built and completed in May of 1986 by the U.S. Bureau of
Reclamation. It was built to provide storage for off-season water
flows for release during the irrigation season.
